Scope of application

These General Terms and Conditions of Sale ("GTCS") automatically govern the sale of holidays via the www.hotel-luxembourg-bayeux.com website, by e-mail via the reception@gdluxembourg.com box or directly by telephone. Each customer, referred to as the "guest", acknowledges having read and accepted these G.S.C. prior to any booking made by him or herself or by a third party (particularly in the case of "gift vouchers"). These G.T.C. are made available to the customer or guest on written request or directly via the website www.grand-hotel-luxembourg.com.

Article 1 - Length of stay :

The customer signing the contract concluded for a fixed term may not under any circumstances claim any right to remain in the premises.

Article 2 - Conclusion of the contract :

Online bookings become effective as soon as the customer has guaranteed them by means of a bank card valid on the date of the start of the holiday.

Article 3 - Cancellation by the customer :

  1. a)No charge will be made for cancellations or amendments made 48 hours before the arrival date. If the customer books a non-refundable fare, he/she will not be able to cancel the booking in accordance with the fare's conditions of sale.
  2. b)In the event of late cancellation or amendment or no-show, the owner will require payment of the full amount of the stay.
  3. c)If the Customer does not show up at the hotel, or if the reservation is "No Show" (reservation not cancelled - Customer not present), the reservation as a whole will be cancelled, which means that the reserved night(s) will be released and the total amount of the reserved stay, i.e. all reserved nights and extras, will automatically be payable, without any right to reimbursement on the Customer's part.
  4. d)In the event of a shortened stay, the price corresponding to the cost of the accommodation will be retained by the owner.

Article 4 - Arrival :

Guests are welcomed on the specified day from 3 pm or, depending on availability, with an early check-in (€30 supplement). In the event of late arrival, the customer must inform the owner.

The hotelier is at liberty not to receive guests whose dress is indecent or negligent, guests whose behaviour is noisy, improper or alcoholic, or guests whose behaviour is contrary to public decency or public order.

Anyone wishing to stay at a hotel must identify themselves and any accompanying persons.

Article 5 - Room occupancy :

The customer may not bring into the room third parties not known to the hotel owner, unless authorised by the latter. Similarly, the customer may not rent a room for a number of people greater than that stipulated by the regulations in force.

Article 6 - Relaxation area :

Access to the relaxation area is reserved exclusively for guests of the Grand Hôtel Du Luxembourg and the Hôtel De Brunville from 8am to 10pm and pets are not permitted. Before swimming, customers must take a shower and avoid using body oils and creams. Pregnant women should not stay in hot water for more than 10 minutes. It is forbidden to jump, drink or eat in the pool, jacuzzi and sauna.

Article 7 - Nuisance and respect for other customers :

Disturbances, even during the day, are prohibited. Any guest causing a disturbance or scandal in any form whatsoever will be asked to leave the hotel immediately and without refund of their stay. In the interests of the tranquillity of the establishment, all noise must cease between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.
For the respect and rest of other guests, please do not slam doors or make too much noise, particularly between 10.00 pm and 8.00 am. Any neighbourhood noise caused by the behaviour of a person under the hotelier's responsibility may result in the hotelier asking the guest to leave the establishment without the need to take acoustic measurements, provided that the noise generated is of such a nature as to disturb the peace and quiet of the guests. Any disturbance requiring the reimbursement of customers who have suffered inconvenience will be charged to the credit card of the disturbing party.

Article 8 - Prices :

Prices are quoted in Euros. VAT is included in the prices quoted. Any change in the applicable rate, or any modification or introduction of new legal taxes by the competent authorities, will be automatically reflected in the prices indicated on the invoice date.

Rates are per room for the number of people indicated and according to the period selected.

The prices shown only include the services strictly mentioned in the reservation. Any additional services provided by the hotelier during the stay and, where applicable, tourist tax will be added to the price mentioned in the reservation.

The prices mentioned on the Site may be modified at any time by the Hotel without prior information or notice. Only the price indicated in the booking confirmation by the Company is contractual.

No stay booked before the introduction of a promotional offer will be refunded, even partially.

Choose to pay your bill in your own currency when using your Visa or Mastercard credit card and benefit from the best exchange rate and the most advantageous exchange commissions when you leave.

Article 9 - Regulations :

Accommodation is payable on the day of departure at the latest. We accept the following credit cards: Visa, Eurocard-Mastercard, American express. It is also possible to pay by bank cheque, holiday voucher or cash.

A bank card number will be required as a guarantee. Failure to pay will result in the immediate expulsion of the customer, subject to legal proceedings for payment of the amount due.

Article 10 - Tourist tax :

The tourist tax is a local tax that the customer must pay to the owner, who then passes it on to the Treasury. The tourist tax is never included in the price of the reservation. It is payable on site.

Article 11 - Use of the premises :

The customer must respect the peaceful nature of the premises and use them in accordance with their intended purpose. They undertake to return the accommodation in good condition.

Article 12 - Animals :

Pets are allowed at an additional cost of €15, subject to the hotelier's agreement, failing which they may not be admitted to the hotel.

Guide dogs are allowed free of charge with the prior agreement of the hotelier.

Pets are the responsibility of the tenant. It is forbidden to leave it unattended in the room.

Any damage caused intentionally or unintentionally must be paid for by the tenant of the room.

Article 13 - Capacity :

The contract is drawn up for a specific number of people. If the number of guests exceeds this number, the owner is entitled to refuse the additional guests. This refusal can under no circumstances be considered as a modification or breach of contract on the owner's initiative, so that in the event of the departure of a number of guests greater than those refused, the price corresponding to the cost of the accommodation remains the property of the owner.

Article 14 - Insurance :

Customers are responsible for all damage caused by themselves. They should therefore check whether their main home insurance policy includes a holiday rental extension. The hirer certifies that he/she is covered by civil liability insurance covering his/her own liability and that of any persons accompanying him/her.

Article 15 - Prohibitions :

For safety reasons and out of respect for everyone, smoking is strictly prohibited throughout the hotel. In accordance with decree no. 2006-1386 of 15 November 2006 laying down the conditions for implementing the ban on smoking in places designated for collective use, smoking in the hotel will result in an additional charge of €100 and legal proceedings.

Any accidental activation of the fire alarm due to non-compliance with this provision will be billed at €150 to cover the cost of restarting the fire safety system.

Article 16 - Force majeure :

Force majeure refers to any event outside the control of the parties that is both unforeseeable and insurmountable, preventing either the customer or the hotelier from fulfilling all or part of their obligations under the contract.

This applies in particular in the event of strike, insurrection, riot or prohibitions imposed by government or public authorities.

It is expressly agreed that force majeure suspends, for the parties, the performance of their mutual obligations and that each party shall bear the costs arising therefrom.

In particular, Customers alone shall bear any additional costs that may be incurred to enable the journey to continue, following the occurrence of a case of force majeure.

Article 17 - Disputes :

We recommend that you contact the Tourist Office, which will help you to settle any disputes amicably - if the complaint is made within the first three days after arrival, for any dispute concerning the inventory of fixtures or the description, and at the end of the stay for all other disputes. For all disputes arising from the performance or interruption of this contract, only the Courts of the jurisdiction of the location of the property that is the subject of the rental shall have jurisdiction.
